2025 ECD Open House & Annual Meeting

  • The University of Olivet Cutler Student Center Community Room 200 E Cottage St. Olivet Mi 49076 United States (map)

You are in for a treat on Tuesday, June 24th for Eaton Conservation District’s Open House and Annual Meeting!

Our partners at The University of Olivet will host us in their brand new Community Room at the Cutler Student Center, which opened in 2024. Come see their new building, enjoy a dessert bar, and uplift Eaton County’s conservation heroes as they receive awards for the work they have been doing to protect and restore our natural resources.

We will be electing two board directors at this Annual Meeting so come ready to vote!

As a special treat, U. Olivet is opening their exclusive, gated Kirkelldel Biological Preserve for a guided hike with Professor Erin Pavloski. Learn about the history of the property, and research that is being conducted, as well as native and invasive species on the property.

Located two miles from campus on Pine Lake, Kirkelldel Biological Preserve has five habitat types and broad biological diversity, serving as an outdoor classroom for a range of science classes and research projects.

The out-and-back “two track” trail is about 1 mile each way and the hike may take about 1 hour, depending on conversation. Please wear appropriate shoes and clothing for hiking, and bring your refillable water bottle to reduce waste.

When: Tuesday, June 24, 2025 - 6-8pm
