Bell Pear

from $29.00

Size: 4-5 ft
Root Stock: OHxF 87

Ranking highest in flavor intensity, balance, and juiciness compared to other pears, this Bell Pear tree is the best in its season and considered to be far superior to Bartlett. The pears produced are a bright yellow with splashes of blush red over the whole fruit. The fruit is ready for harvest around the third week of August, one week before the Bartlett pears.

The Bell Pear tree is resistant to fire blight and will grow 8-12 feet tall. The Bell Pear tree requires cross-pollination with other pear trees to ensure the best possible pollination for larger, more flavorful fruits. Because of the high flavor and juiciness, the Bell pears are great for eating fresh or for baking.

*A mature height of less than 15 feet is recommended for trees planted near power lines. Tall growing trees should be planted a minimum of 20 feet away from power lines, and 50 feet away to avoid future pruning.

*This plant will be packaged as "bare root". Bare root plants have no soil around their roots. Bare root trees, shrubs, and perennials must be planted as soon as possible before growth begins. Find care and planting instructions here:  https://www.arborday.org/trees/planting/bare-root.cfm
