White Flowering Dogwood (Cornus florida)

White Flowering Dogwood is a small, ornamental native tree celebrated for its year-round beauty and ecological value. In spring, it bursts into showy white blooms, actually four large bracts surrounding tiny green flowers that brighten woodland edges and gardens alike. Summer brings lush green foliage, followed by brilliant red-purple leaves in fall and glossy red fruits in winter that attract songbirds. This tree’s rounded shape, layered branching, and smooth gray bark provide striking texture and visual interest through all four seasons.

Light: Full sun to partial shade
Soil: Acidic, well-drained, loamy to sandy soil; prefers moist, rich conditions
