Santa Rosa Plum

from $29.00

Size: 4-5 ft

Santa Rosa Plums are large and a reddish-purple in color. The plums are firm, high quality and one of the most popularly planted Japanese Plum trees. These rich and tart plums are great for eating fresh and cooking. They are commonly turned into preservatives like jams, jellies, or dehydrated into prunes. They are high in antioxidants, fiber, and Vitamins A, C, and K.

The Santa Rose Plum tree is not only great for producing plums, but also for ornamental purposes. With the pinkish white blossoms, they are a show in the springtime. They are hardy in winter, making them a great tree to grow in Michigan. They require a location with full sun and are self-pollinators but can be cross-pollinated to get a larger number of fruit growth. They reach a height of 10-12 feet and begin to bear fruit at 3-6 years old.

*A mature height of less than 15 feet is recommended for trees planted near power lines. Tall growing trees should be planted a minimum of 20 feet away from power lines, and 50 feet away to avoid future pruning.

*This plant will be packaged as "bare root". Bare root plants have no soil around their roots. Bare root trees, shrubs, and perennials must be planted as soon as possible before growth begins. Find care and planting instructions here:  https://www.arborday.org/trees/planting/bare-root.cfm
