Somerset Grape

from $16.00

Somerset Grape Vines produce medium sized, sweet red table grapes. The Somerset Grapes are known for their hardiness and their unique strawberry-like flavor.  The grapes have a crisp, juicy texture and become sweeter the closer they are to being fully mature. As the grapes begin to grow on the vine, they start out as a lighter pink and will turn to a darker red once they mature. The grapes are usually ripe and ready to be harvested in August.

They are disease-resistant and are very cold tolerant, surviving through temperatures as cold as -30ºF, lasting through Michigan’s winters. The vine is self-pollinating and will grow 4 to 6 feet tall. The vine grows best in a location with full sun and loamy, well-drained soil. It is recommended that each vine is placed 6 to 8 feet apart for optimal growth.

*This plant will be packaged as "bare root". Bare root plants have no soil around their roots. Bare root trees, shrubs, and perennials must be planted as soon as possible before growth begins. Find care and planting instructions here:  https://www.arborday.org/trees/planting/bare-root.cfm
